Shockwave was a member of the scientist caste in the industrial city of Kaon. In a reversal of the usual order, he was swayed by the ambitions of the former mining caste member turned gladiator Megatron. Serving as Megatron's "pet mad scientist" and second-in-command, he saw to the fighter's armament during his rise to prominence, all the while fantasizing on the prospect of mass producing such warriors. Thankfully, Megatron's more practical nature reined in Shockwave as the movement which became the Decepticons finally moved out of the shadows.

The Nitric Bomb is one of the latest developed creations of Shockwave. It is a chemical weapon, in which is composed of Nitric acid and housed by a grenade shell. When it explodes, the acid will immediately begin to spread and form a small pool, destroying both inorganic and organic materials it touches. Due to the strong concentration of acids, a human being will likely be burned and eroded away completely from the chemical bomb and to those cybertronians that are struck by the weapon, it will corrode and breakdown through the armor. Verine Disease

The Verine Disease is a parasitic disease, in which effects, living and non-living cybertronian energon fluids. This deadly disease was created by Shockwave, as a biological weapon against the autobot forces. Analysis has shown that whoever transmits this disease into their energon streams, will suffer until death between two, or three weeks, given the strength of the victim. Though as many could be fooled as simply removing the parasitic virus, that is not the answer, unless treated almost immediately.
